    Issues with Delivery & Customer Service

    The online delivery service and customer service were a nightmare. The Giant Direct delivery service forces you to set up an account and to get a card for their grocery store, even though I live nowhere near a Giant store and simply wanted to place an order for my mom for Mother's Day since she lives near one. That is completely unnecessary, as I place many, many online orders where I can choose to place the order without setting up an account. Then I accidentally left the box checked that says shipping and billing are the same, and there was no way to edit that after I moved forward a page. That then seemed to have linked my account to one my mom must have, so it then charged her for her own Mother's Day gift. I called the central customer service line, was transferred twice, then got cut off while talking with an agent. They had just confirmed my phone number, but no one called back. I called again and gave my phone number directly in case I was cut off, which I was again, and no one called back. I thought this might be a nice was to start sending things to my mom from across country, but apparently not.

    The store is and always has been on a attack basis of Rude old defunct stores with bad customer service that gang up on our normal customer complaints in bagging with items slammed cracked to cup cakes smashed in bags when told how we wanted em ! Nitwits do this and we just returned the items and more people say stupid stuff like we going to have through it out or lose whinny Cry babies we lose every time we shop on rotten food in bags to bad things. The still in buss after years of being like this and they 55 % off everything we buy wholesale is shared here back mostly list prices and then sales aren’t included in computers we come back for advertising failure oh someone didn’t type it in . They have been 5.00 higher on all paper products and general products. Oreo a bag alone 5.95 for one they sit they sit they dry turn to dust on outsides of cookies 🍪…. Use Walmart in poor areas or shop stores to sales only sales only hit them back forth today when you have time ! This stores system is in failures with to pay for old expenses union workers retirement and new inflation rates. Move on out hit em all use shop rite stores except Timonium they are high as well and don’t care about us at all use large illegal security Windows to protect them over us with no help when they over ring or make up a false price for items they are not trained or taught to identify at our your my expense! Run hit other stores and low level Walmart stores no super stores they 35 % higher too ! Sales sales avoid bad stores that attempt to gang up on us while harassing locality of local police to falsely accused people of their over rings or missing out on items . Always always their own fault and they hire people who are idiotand aren’t willing to be people friendly. Self check. Is ok but limited we pay make them interact allow them to help so can’t be accused of this system didn’t do it right !

    Do not use Giant delivery or buy the Giant yearly pass. they are constantly late and not because of Instacart delivery but because the Giant store doesnt pick the order on time so Instacart can deliver on time and then they would not reimburse the full cost of my Giant pass which i paid for ON TIME delivery service not late all the time delivery service.

    While stopping by the White Oak Giant…I was racially profiled

    While stopping by the White Oak Giant store, a hired security guard racially profiled me. I went in to look for a floral plant to purchase. I grabbed a small shopping cart with one flat circular piece of paper. When I did not see a plant I wanted, I wheeled the cart towards the door, and the guard stated that if I pushed the cart out, the wheels would lock. I left the cart at the door, and the guard patted the circular paper. I never ventured past the floral section that is right by an entry/exit door.

    Self check out machines are just awful

    Self check out machines are just awful. I hate using them but sometimes if have to because there are not enough checkouts open. Today there was only one checkout open with a long line. I used the self checkout and it constantly required assistance. The problem "place your item in the bagging area" or "replace your item in bagging area" etc. It can't tell what the customer is doing regardless of hard you try to understand the problem with the bagging process. Please fix your self checkout machines. I would shop at another store but I shop at this Giant because it provides free bags. The store is 141 East Swedesford Road, Exton, PA. Last comment: I wish you would stop with the roving robot that is always in the way.

    Giant Direct at Emmaus Ave store in…

    Giant Direct at Emmaus Ave store in Allentown is terrible. They had one employee pulling orders on 3/12/24. Orders were 1-1/2 hours late. Managers need to be FIRED!!!

    This is the worst under stocked food…

    This is the worst under stocked food chain I have ever shopped in. Thankfully there is a Wegmans market that is going to open in this area. I can't pay for over priced low quality vegetables and meat. Have the dutch eat a wooden shoe! I have seen two giant food stores close in this area due to poor service and product. Jamison Pa. and Warrington pa. Get a grip close or improve........

    After standing in a long line with a disability, no one wants to stand in another line at the door for them to check your receipt. May I suggest that you have one security guard near the register and one by the door. I won't be standing in 2 lines. Check your cameras. SMH

    No way to make complaint

    We bought a bag of shrimp that said 16 - 20 per pound. 20 shrimp was less then 7 ounces. When using the website to post a complaint, there is no way to do that. When you get to this page giantfood DOT com/contact and click "give us feedback" you go to this page giantfood DOT com/contact/feedback and click on the Contact Us link and go back to the previous page. It's just a big loop. Obviously they don't want or care to hear what their customers have to say.

    Options to choose what substitutions a customer wants.

    Not being able to choose whether you want or not want substitutions individually. Your site used to give you a choice to choose the items you did not want substitutions, and now it’s either you want no substitutions or you want all substitutions. Bad option. Please give the customer the option when purchasing the item to choose their options individually, and have the shopper call the customer to to let them know what the substitutions are.

    According to Giant Grocery everybody…

    According to Giant Grocery everybody who shops there must be a criminal. That is how their self checking machine is programed. It was not like this years ago. None of the grocery stores around have reprogrammed their self check out to be as sensitive as Giant's and assume everyone is a thief. Terrible costumer service. I have stopped going to Giant for tge most part. There are many better choices in Columbia and Ellicott City.

    I live in Amsterdam and shop regularly at the Albert Heijn near my house. What's the connection to your Giant? Well, both are owned by A-Hold corporation. BTW, Albert Heijn is like the Wholefood of the Netherlands.... Overpriced. So, why does a tiny, expensive country like Holland have prices, within the same company, so much lower? GREEDFLATION..... Record profits and payments to shareholders is the answer. I'm so happy I don't live here and feel sorry for all of the victims of Giant's basic greed. Or does the upper management at Giant refer to its customers as suckers? Shame on you!

    The giants store in district heights…

    The giants store in district heights Maryland has poor customer service. I shop there because they're close to me but I try to avoid them because of service. On Friday January 12 2024 at 3pm I saw dove soap in the ad for 2/7.00. I had to wait in the customer service desk 15min plus they had to unlock them due to thief. None of the soap came up with the correct sale price. After approximately 30min combined in line and checking she called for the assistant manager. She checked each item in varies way but didn't come up correct. I asked the store manager Mr. Johnson could he adjust the price. He told me he couldn't do and would not adjust price and walked away in a nasty manner.

    I’ve been shopping at giant for years.. I got in a line to check out my 15 items and was told that it was closed and I’d have to use self checkout.. I don’t do self checkout due to not being an employee.. and I don’t get paid to work there.. If I didn’t really need what I went for I would have left my cart sit and walk out.. I checked out my groceries and left the manager know that I will not be shopping there anymore..

    Get your departments in control

    Guys, you need to get better control of your vegetable department. Food is spoiled and old looking. The seafood area usually ok but this year I purchased some fresh smelt for December 24th dinner. The fish still had some scales on it and didn’t taste fresh. We couldn’t eat them.

    they have revamped website and somehow lots of people can't get into website to order groceries. I have called 3 times over past week and a half and they tell me to reset my password which I have done so many times I'm running out of password ideas. I was assured yesterday to wait an hour, try again and request new password. I waited 5 hours and still it says I have no active account but they are still sending me emails. Doesn't make sense. Good thing though I have been shopping at Walmart and their prices are so much cheaper. So they have lost me as a customer for my big food orders. Seems they just don't care.

    Worst Grocery delivery service

    Grocery delivery: This is the last time I plan to order delivery from Giant. They consistently arrive late and won’t tell you what items are out of stock until AFTER you are charged. After everything, I still need to go to another grocery store for items that were out of stock.

    Grocery Stores Screwing Us.

    Got home and realized we didn't get the sale price on the meat because it was a "digital" coupon. This is deceitful business practice. I saw the sale sign and expected the sale price. Not that it's worth my time or the amount but I'll be going back tomorrow to give the manager my perception on this practice. As bad as things are in the world today we've got grocery stores screwing us now.

    The decision to go from a $0 delivery…

    The decision to go from a $0 delivery fee to a $9.95 delivery fee is sudden, drastic, and likely to turn away many loyal customers. $9.95 is what Whole Foods charges, and Giant is no Whole Foods. I have already changed my delivery schedule and will order much less often. The Instacart people are not trained, my order was left in the middle of the driveway. Who makes these bone-headed decisions?!?

    If I could give no stars I would. I have been a loyal Peapod and Giant Delivers customer for 20 years. Tomorrow I will be canceling my account and podpass. Delivery yesterday was scheduled for 8-10 am. It had not arrived by 11.30 when I had to leave for an appointment. I rescheduled for an 8-10am slot today by phone and received a confirmation email of the change. They are now three hours late and it being Sunday, I have no way of finding out when or if I will receive a delivery. This is no way to run a business.
